Founded in 1978, the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) is the recognized authority on strength training & conditioning of athletes. NSCA’s membership is comprised of certified and professional strength and conditioning coaches, athletic and personal trainers, exercise physiologists, coaches, physical therapists, exercise instructors, educators and students. Members work within the athletic departments of universities and high schools along with professional establishments involved in sports medicine, sports clubs, physical therapy, chiropractics, and orthopedics. NSCA members must stay up-to-date regarding training techniques, exercise equipment, nutrition/diet and overall technology to insure they provide the safest and most effective training possible for the athletes they serve. NSCA offers the only nationally accredited certification programs in the fitness industry - - the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCSSM) and the NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPTSM). Member benefits include subscription to multiple journals, conferences, discounts on testing for certifications, career services, educational resources, and access to wide variety of affinity programs including insurance, credit cards and car rental discounts.
