Founded in 1996, the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) serves both engineers and educators directly involved in structural engineering - the design and construction of various structures ranging from bridges, buildings, monuments, and other such structures. Affiliated with the American Society of Civil Engineers, SEI is dedicated to the unique needs of the structural engineering community while also being a voice on broader issues that shape the entire civil engineering community.
SEI stimulates coordination and understanding between academia and practicing engineers - driving the practical application of cutting edge research. The organization also provides a forum for research, education, design, testing, manufacturing, construction and operations in the structural engineering profession.
